As it happened, Truman got a lot of opportunities to show everybody how decisive he was,

3oWhich was about how the communists had infiltrated the U.S. government before anybody knew the communists were an evil totalitarian state,
4pAnd wanted to own everybody and everything,
5Including the Yanks.
6The way the Yanks found out about all the communists who had infiltrated the government was a scandal about somebody named qAlger Hiss,
7Who was a high-level Yank diplomat,
8And according to rWhittaker Chambers, a sCommunist spy too,
9Which caused a tremendous ruckus,
10Because tChambers had evidence,
11Including the papers Hiss had stolen from the state department,
12And the typewriter he recopied them on,
13And the copies he had typed on the typewriter,
14And witnesses,
15aExcept that Hiss denied it all,
16Since it wasn’t true,
17bBecause Whittaker Chambers was a homosexual,
18Which made it all pretty obvious,
19cSomehow.
