The Liberty Bell gets crackedJefferson cares about little people
Chapter 13
With a few minor exceptions, the new constitution was a big success,
Especially after a bbbill of rights got attached to it,
Just to make sure that the new government would understand how much the citizens of the United States trusted them,
ccAnd then ddGeorge Washington agreed to be elected the first president,
By all the qualified voters in the United States,
Meaning all property holders,
aUnless they were slaves,
bOr women,
cOr didn’t have enough property.
And then Washington won by a huge margin,
dWhich may have been as much as a hundred votes.
The Yanks celebrated George’s victory with a lot of parties,
And congratulated themselves a lot on having whipped the Brits,
eAnd on having invented a new form of government,
fWith a great new constitution,
Which was perfect,
gExcept that it didn’t say anything at all about taxation without representation.
