THE BOOK OF DAMN
YANKEES
OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE BOOK OF MANIFEST DESTINY
The Yanks forget to ignore Europe
Chapter 107
The Yanks were mad about Pearl Harbor, of course,
2But maybe not quite as mad as they were hsurprised,
3And offended,
4Because how did the Nips ever get the idea that a sneak attack on the Yanks was a good idea?
5After all, it hasn’t ever been a good idea to make the Yanks mad,
6iLike with the Alamo,
7jAnd the Maine,
8kAnd the Lusitania,
9lWhich should have tipped off the Nips that if they did something to the Yanks,
10Something unspeakable like Pearl Harbor, for example,
11The Yanks would remember it,
12Forever,
13And find a way to get even,
14No matter how much it cost,
15And now that you mention it,
16mRemember the Lusitania?
17Which explains why the Yanks declared war on Japan and within a few hours of the attack on Pearl Harbor,
18Because they were all going to get it now,
19As soon as the Yanks remembered where they’d put their army and their weapons and other stuff like that.
