THE BOOK OF DAMN
YANKEES
OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE BOOK OF MANIFEST DESTINY
Roosevelt reelected againThe Yanks keep on ignoring Europe
Chapter 104
The only problem was, the Brits had pretty well made up their mind that they couldn’t beat the Krauts alone,
pWhich meant that they wanted the Yanks to do it,
And so qWinston Churchill got on the radio,
And started sounding off in a pretty picturesque way,
Going on about rblood, sweat, and tears,
And fighting them on the beaches,
aAnd their finest hour,
And a bunch of other stuff too,
bUntil the Yanks had this picture in their head of the Brits doing it the hard way,
All alone,
cWith nothing more than half a dozen Spitfires,
And a tough old dprime minister with a epistol in his pocket,
Who was honest and great,
fEven if he hadn’t been born in a log cabin,
Which was important to remember,
gBecause Churchill was a Brit,
And since when had the Brits ever done anything for the Yanks,
Except look down their nose,
And lift their eyebrow,
And play with their hmonocle in a condescending way,
iUnless they were in over their heads in a gigantic world war that is,
Again,
jWhich is why the Yanks absolutely positively were not going to get involved again,
No matter how great Churchill was,
kPeriod,
And weren’t going to help out at all,
lUnless you count lending them a whole bunch of ships and weapons and food,
mAnd making sure they got across the North Atlantic to Great Britain,
nEven if that wasn’t going to save them anyway.
