When they had all stopped laughing about Poland,
2yThe Yanks discovered that it was getting a lot harder all of a sudden to completely ignore Hitler,
3Because comical as he was,
4He certainly seemed to have the Europeans’ number,
5And wasn’t wasting any time at all in taking what he wanted.
6zSo even though it wasn’t any big surprise when the Krauts demolished the Maginot Line in about an hour and a half,
7aaAll the Frog jokes the Yanks told each other were starting to have a hollow ring,
8bbBecause there wasn’t going to be a big trench in France this time,
9aWhich meant that the Nazis just might pull it off and finally conquer all of Europe,
10bUnless the Yanks decided to stop them,
11Which they didn’t want to,
12At all,
13Although it was real hard to see how it could be done by anybody but the Yanks,
14cWho are braver and smarter and richer and better than everyone else,
15dAnd always have God on their side anyway,
16Whenever they’re involved,
17If they want to be involved, that is,
18eWhich they most definitely didn’t,
19This time anyway.
20And so maybe it was better to hope that God would help the Brits out this time,
21Since the Brits weren’t fighting the Yanks this time,
22So maybe they’d do a better job of it than fusual,
23This time.
