WAYS Chapter 25

The Way of the SpicsThe Way of the Brits
Chapter 25
The way of the Spics was an altar,
Drenched in the nblood of their faith,
Which they gave up to God with a passion,
And a pride that would pay any price.
The life of the altar is hard and of stone,
And it ends with a solid-ogold blade,
Which severs the heart still beating,
And turns flesh into pgod for an inkling,
If fear has not broken the spell.
So they rode out in search of a treasure,
That was qworth the blessing and pain,
Masters of fear and its bite on the soul,
But afraid of the one fear that’s cold at the heart,
The fear of the Lord God’s disdain.
For if He rspurned their altar,
And the heart they proffered him,
Then how could they be braver,
Who already sanctified themselves with pain?
And maybe they dreamt of mercy,
And a healing god of tears,
But this soldier of Christ lived a crucible,
And if he lived it far too hard,
Slaying one sworld for each altar he built,
He would tdie like a dog before kneeling,
And begging for love like some coward.
But who can speak for the God of love,
And the ways he raises his young?
Is one’s faith all for nought if it asks too much?
Or is valor one jewel in God’s holy crown?
And many may answer the answer is no,
aNo love that murders is real love at all,
But if that is your reason for scorning the Spics,
Ask yourself what you’ve done for the real love you hoard,
That’s as hard as what Spics did for God.
