THE BOOK OF

ROMANS Chapter 2

OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE SECOND BOOK OF GREEKS

The Romans invent “appropriating”
Chapter 2
The Romans believed in doing things the keasy way,
2Like eating on couches,
3And having a little urn next to the couch so they could make room for seconds without leaving the table,
4And wrapping themselves up in a single big sheet called a toga instead of wearing clothes,l
5All of which saves time,
6And resulted in the biggest Roman invention,
7mWhich is called “appropriating,”
8And means taking something from somebody else,
9Changing its name when nobody is looking,
10And then pretending it was yours all along.
11And so they appropriated as much as they could from the Greeks,
12Like all the nGreek Gods and Goddesses,
13And most of the oGreek myths,
14pAnd comedy and philosophy and history,
15Especially history,
16qWhich has a way of happening all by itself,
17rWhether you do anything yourself or not,
18And also maybe not as much philosophy as comedy,
19Because sphilosophy isn’t easy,
20Which is why the Romans actually had to make up some philosophy of their own,
21To introduce the idea that,
22tIf a thing isn’t easy, it isn’t worth doing at all.
