THE
RATIONALIZATIONS
OF DAVID THE DAD
A son named Harry
Chapter 29
But do I deserve this,
2To be alone,
3Without my wife,
4bPilled to the gills in a gray linoleum box?
5Maybe so.
6Maybe there is a kind of justice after all,
7A last chance to reflect,
8Leading to one final moment of recognition,
9And if I can earn that moment,
10Maybe I’ll get to see her again before I die,
11Which would be paradise for all eternity,
12And the answer to all my prayers,
13And worth everything I have ever suffered or endured,
14All of it,
