GREEKS Chapter 9

OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE FIRST BOOK OF GREEKS

Greeks able to believe anything
Chapter 9
Usually, though, the Greeks had to settle for one thing or the other.
2For example, they had a great myth about how nDedalus made wings out of wax and feathers,
3And then talked his oson into trying them out,
4pWhich just goes to show you that myths don’t have to have happy endings,
5Because Icarus flew most of the way to the sun,
6And then fell the whole way back,
7Screaming.q
8But Icarus didn’t have a horse, and so the Greeks made up a bunch of other great myths about rcentaurs,
9Which were half man, half horse,
10sAnd very wise,
11In spite of the fact that the horse half was the back half,
12Proving once again,
13That Greeks can believe practically anything.
