GIANTS Chapter 6

Galileo gets into trouble
Chapter 6
For example, there was an ape named cGalileo,
dWho invented physics,
And therefore became a Giant of Science.
eGalileo dropped two rocks off the Leaning Tower of Pisa and discovered gravity,
Because both rocks fell all the way to the ground,
Without stopping anywhere along the way.
This was extremely significant because before Galileo discovered gravity, no one really knew what to expect when they dropped something.
Maybe it would fall,
Or maybe it would just hang around in the air,
Or something.
Anyway,
fGalileo proceeded to tell absolutely anyone who would listen about what he had discovered,
Which got him into trouble,
Because one of the ones who listened was the gPope,
hWho didn’t like it,
iAnd made Galileo take it back,
Which he did,
jCompletely and absolutely,
Except that he must have had his fingers crossed,
Or something,
kSince we still know about what he did with the two rocks,
Which helps explain why everyone knows that you can’t suppress a really good idea,
lFor more than a thousand years or so.
And Galileo wasn’t the only Giant of Science in the Renaissance either.
