FROGS Chapter 39

OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE BOOK OF GLORY

The Maginot Line disappearsThe abiding glory of the Frogs
Chapter 39
In fact, after the war, sCharles de Gaulle became the new emperor of France,
2Although his official title was President of the Third or Fourth French Republic,
3And fought hard to retain the last pitiful remnants of the Frog colonial empire,
4aSuch as risking assassination to prevent the Algerians from becoming independent,
5bAnd waging a silly war in Indochina to keep the communists from taking Vietnam away from the Frogs,
6cAnd telling the rest of the world how great France was at every opportunity,
7And how they didn’t need help from America or anyone else,
8Except for the tourist trade, of course,
9Which it was the duty of every Frog citizen to support by being as French as possible at all times,
10Which is to say as rude as possible at all times,
11Because in spite of everything,
12Including all their lost chances to be the Chosen Nation of Europe,
13dThe Frogs still know that they are superior to everyone else,
14Which is their abiding glory as a people,
15eAnd the reason why everyone else is sick to death of them.
