There will be another great comedy about lawyers called ‘I Love the Defensers,’
2Which will be funny because the Defensers won’t always win their cases,
3Although they mostly will,
4Because if they didn’t, the show wouldn’t be so much a comedy as mtheater of the absurd,
5Which you can’t say about ‘I Love the Defensers,’
6Because they’re so committed and honest and brilliant and all that,
7And when they lose a case it isn’t because they’re not infallible,
8But because their clients are guilty,
9Which means that it wouldn’t be right for them to win,
10And so they don’t,
11Which is why you have to admire them so much,
12aEven if anyone in his right mind would look under “M” in the yellow pages before they settled for these guys.
