But if one of your leaders should ever start pointing the finger at you,
2lAnd reminding you that your dead American ancestors did an awful lot to build America in the first place,
3mAnd suggesting that you have it better than they did,
4And maybe it’s time to start getting some mileage out of the courage and perseverance and dignity and brains you inherited from them,
5Then it’s time for you to be very very suspicious of that leader.
6And if he should go on from there,
7And start talking about self-reliance,
8And helping each other,
9aAnd other people too,
10bBecause the government can’t do it all,
11Then it’s time to spit upon him, and revile him, and send him away,
12Without thinking about it at all,
13cBecause it isn’t time for the hard way,
14And never will be again:
15For if you choose the hard way,
16Harry’s Trinity won’t help you,
17At all,
18dAnd you’d be on your own,
19In a nation full of white people,
20Who can’t be trusted,
21At all.
