ULTRA-HARRIER JOE’S MESSAGE · FOR THE
BROADSTREETERS
The hard way is no funThe Way of Harry is pretty perfect
Chapter 11
If you want to do things the hard way,
It means settling down in your neighborhoods,
Wherever they are,
And working yourself to death at whatever comes along,
Including menial labor,
And domestic labor,
And all the other garbage jobs nobody wants,
For a long long time.
While you’re working yourself to death,
You make a great sacred mission out of bringing up your children,
So that every child has two parents,
And a lot of love,
And attention,
And direction.
When you do things the hard way, you have to teach your children to be better than the white children,
And to do everything there is to do better than the white children,
Including schoolwork,
And honesty,
And self-respect,
And family pride,
And courtesy,
And cleanliness,
And reliability,
And thrift,
And honor,
And courage,
And a willingness to work perhaps as much as two or three minutes after quitting time,
Without complaining,
And a bunch of other, outdated irrelevant virtues that white people don’t have themselves anymore,
But think everybody else ought to.
