The Brit aLords got so above it all that they completely stopped trying to run the country.
2bAnd let the commoners do it instead,
3cWhich left more time for wearing nice clothes and being well bred.
4The commoners had a lot of great new ideas about how the Brits could get even more above it all.
5dFor example, they thought up the idea of destroying the Brit economy by making everybody stop working and go on the dole instead,
6eWhich worked great,
7And gave all the Brit intellectuals something to do with their spare time,
8fNow that they didn’t have an empire to worry about anymore.
9gInstead, they had a lot of fun trying to explain why the nation that had invented capitalism couldn’t remember how to make things any more,
10Including cars,
11And airplanes,
12And refrigerators,
13Or anything else,
14hExcept clothes, of course.
