ULTRA-HARRIER JOE’S HOMILY · TO THE
BOULEVARDIERS
God had a pretty cavalier attitude
Chapter 14
If you come from the Christian side of the Judeo-Christian thing, of course,
You probably think that the Jews were all wrong about Yahweh,
Because Christ said that dYahweh was his dad,
And was really good and merciful and so forth,
eDeep down,
Which is why Christ came along in the first place,
Because Yahweh thought that maybe the Jews wouldn’t be so irritating,
If they knew what he really wanted,
fMeaning cathedrals and religious icons,
gInstead of temples and idols,
Which are completely different,
hFor some reason.
And anyone who wants to is perfectly entitled to believe that,
But why didn’t Yahweh come himself?
I mean, if he was really interested in letting people know that he was this kindly merciful god who wanted everybody to be saved,
iAnd not just some remote abstraction,
jWho was maybe already fed up with the Jews,
kAnd maybe everybody else too,
Wouldn’t you think he’d put in an appearance himself,
Instead of sending a substitute?
Doesn’t it make you wonder,
Just a little?
lEspecially when you consider that this is the same God who had already evidenced a pretty cavalier attitude about the sacrificing of sons,
mAnd the same God who had already allowed his Chosen Nation to be enslaved by the Romans,
nAnd the same God who had already thrown everybody out of Eden,
Lock, stock, and barrel,
oJust because some bimbo had a sweet tooth.
No wonder the Jews didn’t buy it.
