Things went on like this for a long time,
2lWith lots of people you never heard of doing lots of things you never knew about,
3mIn a lot of different countries you never cared about.
4In between wars and things, they also made up some culture,
5Including mosques and 8 by 12 carpets and other stuff too,
6Like Arabic numerals,
7nWhich explains why the Arabs are world famous for being brilliant mathematicians,
8Or something like that.
9aWhat with all the carpets and numerals and stuff, the middle easterners were generally far too busy to notice that someone had discovered a new world,
10bSo they missed out on their chance to help make history,
11And therefore had to settle for making trouble instead,
12Which they did.
13Then, when they weren’t looking,
14History sneaked up on them from behind,
15cWhich is the way things go,
16dLife being what it is.
